BlitzIn is a Windows program that shows you a chess board and lets you connect and play on the ICC. BlitzIn was the main Windows interface for ICC before Dasher and is still popular with many long-time members, especially those who prefer a command-line interface and are prepared to spend the time necessary to learn it. Unless you are already familiar with BlitzIn and prefer it, we highly recommend that you start with Dasher instead, which is easier for most new members to learn.

ICC Dasher is the recommended Windows program for connecting and playing on the Internet Chess Club. Designed as the replacement for ICC's classic Windows software, BlitzIn, Dasher offers much the same functionality in a more intuitive graphical user interface especially designed to allow new members to quickly find their way around ICC, while adding such powerful new features as an embedded chess-engine.

Chess Client v2.0 is a graphical interface for playing chess on the internet chess servers, FICS (Free Internet Chess Server) and ICC (Internet Chess Club). CClient and its source code have been released into the public domain. The author waives any and all copyright protections. No more updates will be available.

iNemesis is a graphical interface for playing chess on ICC and FICS servers. Based on CClient has a completely new user interface and offers many more features.

The JavaBoard is an easy to use interface for the American Free Internet Chess Server! This client is especially geared towards new users. More experienced users may find downloading an interface to connect with a better option, as it will offer more features.

Jin is an open source, cross platform, graphical client (interface) for the Internet Chess Club and the Free Internet Chess Server. It currently supports ICC and FICS but is designed to be able to support any chess server.

Some Lantern Chess Interface features are: open pgn, it logs the users games to a pgn file, UCI engine analysis supported when in examine mode on ICC and also observing game mode on ICC ( not when playing), customize look and feel of chat consoles in the console menu on chat console. A lot of work has also been put into the Chess Board in Lantern.

Lantern Chess can support both BlitzIn multi console and Dasher tabs. You customize the tabs channels yourself like BlitzIn customize chat console. Window menu/ New Chat Console if you want multiple consoles to view the 12 tabs.

The user can set a font by tab and font size, can have a different background color on different tabs, can specify a tell console. supports all wilds on ICC, including crazyhouse, bughouse kriegspiel and shatranj. has a board console and in examine mode a piece pallet for setting up chess positions on chessclub.

In Lantern you can type text and instead of hitting enter to send it to ICC, type ctrl + g and it will open the browser like a link click does, but to the google page loaded with the search of those words typed.

Lantern supports private notify lists essentially. Get notified on the tab a channel is on when a person enters or leaves channel, which always happens on logon and logoff. use connect notify to notify a person on all shared channels. This feature can be usd to track channel regulars on ICC or even your favorite Grandmasters on ChessClub.com without them having to be informed.

Thief is a popular interface for Internet Chess Servers at Chess Live (www.chess-live.com), the Free Internet Chess Server and the Internet Chess Club. It was optimized for bughouse support. It is also known to be one of the fastest interfaces, supporting true premoving and other speedy features.

XBoard is a graphical user interface for chess in all its major forms, including international chess, xiangqi (Chinese chess), shogi (Japanese chess) and Makruk, in addition to many minor variants such as Losers Chess, Crazyhouse, Chess960 and Capabanca Chess. It displays a chessboard on the screen, accepts moves made with the mouse, and loads and saves games in Portable Game Notation (PGN).
